The changeover to the production of nose clips for mask production is now the cover story in the daily newspapers Kölner Stadt Anzeiger and Kölnische Rundschau. The newspaper article "Making a virtue out of necessity" reads how the Launhardt company reacted to the pandemic.
The Launhardt company reacted quickly to the corona crisis and the massive slump in orders and switched production to the manufacture of nose clips for mask production.
The Launhardt company actually manufactures plastic-coated stainless steel cable ties for use in the shipbuilding industry, the energy sector, in the construction sector and for DIY. Due to the pandemic, cruise ships can no longer sail and accordingly no more ships will be manufactured. The shipyards are largely at a standstill, so that cable ties from Launhardt are no longer installed here.
In order to counteract this drop in orders, the Launhardt brothers quickly and creatively switched ongoing production to the manufacture of nose clips for mask production. In this way it is possible to manufacture plastic-coated nosepieces with molded caps in lengths of 60 to 150 mm. On the one hand, these nose clips enable very good adaptability to the individual shape of the face, prevent the masks from being punctured, avoid the risk of injury and enable washing at up to 90°C.
Together with the customer Bicalla (https://bicalla.de/cms/masken/) masks were donated to the local Tafel Zülpich, Euskirchen and Frechen.
With this creative conversion of production and with the expansion of the business areas to include industrial 3D printing (selective laser sintering), the Launhardt company received a cover story in the daily newspapers Kölner Stadt Anzeiger and Kölnische Rundschau.
