The switch to producing nose clips for mask production is now the cover story in the daily newspapers Kölner Stadt Anzeiger and Kölnische Rundschau. The newspaper article "Making a Virtue of Necessity" details how the Launhardt company has responded to the pandemic.
In the context of the Corona crisis and the massive drop in orders, the Launhardt company reacted quickly and switched production to the manufacture of nose clips for mask production.
Launhardt actually manufactures plastic-coated stainless steel cable ties for use in the shipbuilding industry, the energy sector, the construction sector, and for DIY enthusiasts. Due to the pandemic, cruise ships can no longer sail, and accordingly, no more ships are being built. Shipyards are largely at a standstill, so Launhardt cable ties are no longer being installed there either.
To counteract this drop in orders, the Launhardt brothers quickly and creatively switched their ongoing production to the manufacture of nose clips for mask production. This makes it possible to produce plastic-coated nose clips with molded-on caps in lengths from 60 to 150 mm. These nose clips allow for excellent adaptability to the individual face shape, prevent punctures, avoid the risk of injury, and allow for washing at temperatures up to 90°C.
Together with the customer Bicalla (https://bicalla.de/cms/masken/) masks were donated to the local food banks in Zülpich, Euskirchen and Frechen.
With this creative change in production and the expansion of its business areas to include industrial 3D printing (selective laser sintering), Launhardt received a cover story in the daily newspapers Kölner Stadt Anzeiger and kölnische Rundschau.
