3D printing ranking, additive manufacturing, Cologne/Bonn/Aachen Manager
The trade magazine Cologne-Bonn-Aachen Manager listed the largest suppliers of industrial 3D printing in its April 2021 issue. Launhardt took fourth place in this ranking, underscoring the strong growth in the field of additive manufacturing. Additive manufacturing enables the economical and flexible implementation of small series, the launch of new products, and the testing of new developments. What many people don't realize is that 3D printing can do much more than they think:
The plastics we offer for 3D printing allow us to replicate almost any possible material properties, allowing us to create entire assemblies with components made of different materials using 3D printing. The best example of this is the combination of the high-strength engineering material polyamide 12 (nylon), which, as an engineering plastic, enables high tensile strength and high elongation at break, and the very soft elastomer (TPU) with a Shore A hardness of 70. The elastomer enables the creation of seals, bellows, pleasant haptics, and flexible structures. All of these materials processed using 3D printing offer approximately the same mechanical and thermal properties as those produced using injection molding. This is achieved using the selective laser sintering (SLS) process, in which the thermoplastic is selectively melted layer by layer using a CO2 laser.
After production, all components are post-processed, smoothed, and optionally colored. This allows us to produce complex assemblies with different materials, component colors, and the most complex functions directly using 3D printing.
Let us convince you of the high quality of our 3D-printed components. Feel free to request a sample component from us.
