Research projects
A particular focus is on research projects such as SLS Elasto. This project is dedicated to researching new, particularly soft elastomers for powder-based 3D printing. This involves not only developing new materials, but also developing workflows and post-processing methods such as coloring and smoothing. The project consortium is comprised of the most innovative companies and research institutes across the entire process chain, from powder production through processing to post-processing of the resulting components. The research project is funded by the Jülich Project Management Agency within the framework of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
HSS Material Network
As part of the HSS Material Network, Launhardt's TPU material is currently undergoing process capability testing with the latest high-speed sintering (HSS) equipment. Partners such as the renowned company Voxeljet are spearheading these investigations, which aim to optimize the performance of Launhardt's TPU material for HSS technologies.
New textbook on industrial 3D printing presented
Furthermore, the newly published non-fiction book by Dr. Launhardt, Dr. Achten, and Prof. Fischer, entitled "Plastics Knowledge for Additive Manufacturing," was presented at the Launhardt booth at FormNext 2023. This highly helpful textbook for beginners in industrial additive manufacturing was published by Hanser Verlag in mid-2023 and is specifically aimed at senior managers in companies planning to enter industrial 3D printing.
The textbook on additive manufacturing is available here in both hardcover and digital format.
