The problem<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Flame-retardant and halogen-free PA12 powder materials for selective laser sintering (SLS) already exist. However, the replenishment rate for these materials is 100%. This makes the production of flame-retardant and halogen-free SLS components extremely costly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Research at Launhardt<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

At Launhardt, research and development of new materials and products is very important. We see this as our future and use this work both to gain know-how and to gain future advantages in the global 3D printing market.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the ReFlaM-LS research project, we are working closely with the University of Paderborn, specifically with the Direct Manufacturing Research Center under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Joachim-Schmid. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

\"\" ReFlaM-LS is a research project co-funded by the European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Together with the project partners <\/span>DMRC<\/span>, <\/span>Launhardt<\/span>, <\/span>Weidm\u00fcller<\/span> and <\/span>Siemens Healthineers<\/span> becomes a<\/span> <\/b>recyclable and flame-retardant powder materials for 3D printing. <\/b>The research project started in May 2024 and will run for a total of 3 years. <\/span><\/p>\n

Goal <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The declared goal is to be able to offer an economical and ecological 3D printing powder material (PA12) with the flame retardant properties of V0, flame retardant according to UL94 and halogen-free as required in many areas today, while at the same time having a significantly optimized refresh rate of the base powder.<\/span><\/p>\n
